"It works to tell time, but as far as the other functions...horrible" 2010-07-18 By Thomas Shaw I have owned this watch for about 4 months. I travel a lot, and on the first plane trip i took, moisture was in the watch from the pressure difference. This killed the light. The hands glow really well when exposed to sunlight, but the push button light died 3 weeks after i got it. The compass is off 30 degrees or more the last time i tried to calibrate it. The temperature is not even relatively accurate unless you take the watch off and leave it off for quite a while. Don't bother buying this watch, actually don't even bother timex, go with fossil they have been reliable to me for years!

"Great Looks / Average Durability / Completely Useless Functions" 2010-07-04 By D. Yon (Feeding Hills, MA) I bought this watch more for the looks, and less for the functionality... good thing. The compass broke within a week or two of strapping it on, and the temperature gauge, like someone else mentioned, gives you a combination of ambient air temp and your own body temp. Which, is totally useless in all regards. At least if it gave straight body temp I could see if I was... say running a fever or something, right? Anyways, also the tide clock seems to be totally inaccurate, or else it requires setting daily, I haven't really figured it out yet... All I know is I set it, and a week later it is useless again. Never the less, the people that complain about the size of the numbers and thing like that should have known that before they purchased the watch. I have no problems with the visual design.

"E-Tide compass watch" 2010-04-24 By Garry Dormody I looked at several watches in this price range (and higher) before settling on this one. I wanted a face that was large enough to easily read and to use the button functions. I am not disappointed. It's a large chunk of a timepiece but it does not feel heavy or cumbersome on the wrist. I use the compass function more than the temperature or tide functions, but they all work satisfactorily. As with all compasses, this one must be held level to obtain a correct reading, but I find it is less forgiving in that regard than a standard size compass. However, it is accurate and that is what I was looking for. Overall, I am quite happy with my purchase and gave it a 4/5 stars.

"Looks Good but..." 2010-03-28 By Paul H. Duray Jr. (Maryland) You love watches but you love good value for the money even more. There's something about this offering from Timex that makes you WANT the watch to be great. Its large face, comfortable wrist strap, and interesting array of functions (compass, temperature gauge, tide clock, etc.) and competitive pricing make it seem a great value. However, after purchasing this watch from a reputable, national chain outdoor store, I had barely worn the watch for an hour when I regretted my decision. The fatal flaw for this particular watch turned out to be a lack of structural interity among one of the three oversized operating buttons positioned from one to four o'clock along the side of the watch casing. Mind you, this flaw was not revealed to me while engaged in some arduous activity such as rock climbing or wrestling an alligator. Instead, I merely reached into a suitcase to pack for a trip and the crown snagged on an article of clothing. I then heard the proverbial "sproing!" as it parted from the watch and went flying across the room. The crown, positioned in the middle of the three operating buttons, controls the basic settings of the watch. Because there was no field fix for such a structure failure, I had to take the watch back for a full refund. Pretty disappointing experience.

"My husbands new best friend" 2010-03-18 By Rebecca Ann Diaz (NEVADA CITY, CALIFORNIA, US) My husband absolutly loves this watch. He is an avid dirtbike rider. Not only does the watch let him know it is time to get his butt home but it also tells him which direction to go.
